Principal's Message

Hello PACS Community,

Let me welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. It is my privilege to serve as the Principal Teacher and look forward to the opportunity to work alongside our school community. My time supporting students and families has been spent as a High School English teacher at Belmont High school, a Parent Educator Coach at Local District East, and as an administrator at John Marshall High School and Edward R. Roybal Learning Center. I am confident that together we will continue to realize PACS’ Mission and Vision:

The mission of the Performing Arts Community School is to prepare 9th - 12th grade students to graduate high school while exploring personal interests in the arts. Students will successfully pursue entry into an institute of higher learning and/or a career through a rigorous, meaningful, and cross curricular academic and arts program.

The Performing Arts Community School provides a rigorous and meaningful educational program for 9-12 grade students that prepares them academically, artistically and socially so that they graduate as independent, cooperative, responsible and creative young adults.

It is my goal to support our school team in meeting this mission and vision. Consequently, our primary focus will be on instruction and the PACS Mission and Vision will serve as our collective compass which will govern all instructional and operational decisions. Furthermore, this year and onward we will reinforce our existing instructional strengths and target areas of challenge by identifying instructional foci that will be supported through instructional conversations; professional development; instructional rounds; and administrator-teacher coaching conversations.

Together, we will further create a place where our students feel confident that they will have been prepared in a meaningful way to meet the demands of post-secondary life. I look forward to the opportunity to learn from one another and I know that with our collective experience and talent, as well as with the support of parents and community partners, we will continue to create opportunities to make our students competitive as they enter college life or the workforce.

I am very excited for this year and I invite you to share in this excitement with me. Please feel free to stop in and say hello; I look forward to getting to know everyone. This is going to be a great year and we will do long-lasting work that will positively influence the students and community we serve.
